The Springboks made their comeback to the international rugby scene against their biggest rivals, the All Blacks in 1992. The scoreline flattered the Boks somewhat as they were completely outplayed. It was clear that the years of isolation hurt South African rugby. But there were some flashes of brilliance and three great tries were scored, two by the legend that is Danie Gerber and one by Pieter Muller. Gerber could have scored three and James Small also dropped the ball with an open try line, so the Boks could possibly have won this one. In the end, it was just great to see these two teams clash again for the first time in 11 years.
