Zimbabwe used to have quite a powerful rugby team, specially when they were still known as Rhodesia. Famous players like Ray Mordt, David Smith, Des van Jaarsveld, Bob Skinstad, Adrian Garvey and Gary Teichman all originally hail from Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe also played in the first two Rugby World Cup tournaments in 1987 and 1991.
Let’s hope with uncle Bob gone, some investment will go back into their sports programs and they can compete at this level again one day.
