This video is a shortened version of a 1988 SABC documentary. The SADF withdrew from Angola after the successful completion of Operations Modular, Hooper and Packer. Most people knows little about these operations except for the battle of Cuito Cuanavale. The withdrawal started after the battle. An artillery group however remained stationed for a longer period about 30km away from Quito to confine the Cubans and their allies to the area in which they were pinned down.
