In this video Kallie Kriel, CEO of AfriForum, reacts to the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s indication that it wants to act against Ernst Roets, AfriForum’s Head of Policy and Action, because of his “contempt of court”. This follows after Roets tweeted an image of the old South African flag with a question: Did I just commit hate speech? Roets, who is currently doing his PhD in law, tweeted the image in an academic context on the day that the Johannesburg High Court ruled that the gratuitous display of the flag was hate speech.

Roets het ná die uitspraak in ’n akademiese konteks ’n foto van die ou vlag op Twitter geplaas met ’n vraag: Het ek nou net haatspraak gepleeg? Roets is tans besig met sy doktorsgraad in regte. Kriel sê die NMS is oneerlik en speel tans ’n polariserende rol in die land. Dit doen ook afbreek aan die beeld van oudpres. Nelson Mandela as versoener.
