Ruan Pienaar was a player who often divided opinion. In our opinion, he was a very skilled player who could cover almost any position in the back line, just like his legendary father, Gysie Pienaar.
Like Gysie, he was a fluid runner who could easily spot a gap and create opportunities for the players outside of him. His best position was arguably scrumhalf, but he often played flyhalf and sometimes full back.
