Why, and who is this ‘Oriol’ who is a role-model for other Europe leaders?
???? Oriol Junqueras i Vies is a Spanish politician, historian and academic from Catalonia.
???? On 1 October 2017 an independence referendum was held in Catalonia despite the Constitutional Court ruling that it breached the Spanish constitution.
???? 92% supported independence.
???? On 14 October 2019 he was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
???? The European Court of Justice ruled on 19 December 2019 that Junqueras had parliamentary immunity as he was an elected MEP and should have been released from prison.
Points to take away:
???? Spain’s Constitution does not allow secession.
???? SA’s Constitution does in fact firmly allow secession.
???? The Catalonians however are pushing with unrestrained effort to get their freedom, irrespective.
???? The SA Minority Groups currently do not fight for their freedom.
???? The Catalonians will not stop till they get their freedom
