Legendes van Afrikaanse Musiek fokus vandeesweek op die legendariese sanger en liedjieskrywer Lucas Maree. Lucas het in 2011 ’n jarelange stryd teen kanker verloor, maar word vandag nog onthou vir die liefde wat hy vir ander gewys het.

Sy vrou, Ilse, en twee van sy drie dogters onthou die legende só:

Koos du Plessis was ‘n wonderlike sanger en ‘n man met baie talente, hier is ‘n Bio oor hom

Koos du Plessis (geb. Rustenburg, 10 Mei 1945 – oorl. Krugersdorp, 14 Januarie 1984) was ‘n Suid-Afrikaanse musikant wat toonaangewend was in die Afrikaanse musiek-en-liriekbeweging van die 1970’s en ’80’s.

Hoewel hy kommersieel nie baie suksesvol was as uitvoerende kunstenaar nie, het die albums wat hy in sy leeftyd uitgereik het, ‘n nuwe rigting in Afrikaanse musiek ingelui en word dit vandag as van die invloedrykstes in die taal se musiekgeskiedenis beskou. Tientalle verwerkings van sy komposisies is sedertdien deur verskeie ander Afrikaanse kunstenaars opgeneem en ‘n hele paar het huldeblyk-albums aan hom opgeneem.

Du Plessis is op 14 Januarie 1984 in ‘n motorongeluk op die ou Krugersdorppad in Knoppieslaagte oorlede, nadat sy Volkswagen Kewer op ’n laagwaterbrug in Knoppieslaagte naby Centurion die pad byster raak terwyl hy ná middernag op pad is na Nick Taylor, sy musiekregisseur.

Laurika en Loki se samewerking het met die herskepping van Laurika se ikoniese treffer Blou, as duet vir haar nuutste album, Die reis, begin. Lee Scott, ‘n sanger en aanbieder van ‘n gewilde TV program is g’n vreemdeling!

Die sanger en TV-aanbieder, Lee Scott, kén van klippe kou en harde werk. Sy professionel musiekloopbaan het immers in 2006 begin. Hy het in daardie jaar vir drie maande musiekteater aan die Tshwane Universiteit van Tegnologie (TUT) studeer voor hy ’n oudisie vir die boyband, Hi-5, afgelê het.

Ná hy gekies is as een van die vyf lede, het die groep vir ’n jaar saam musiek gemaak voor hul in 2007 ontbind het. “Ek het toe begin fokus op my sololoopbaan,” vertel Lee.

Dis ook hier waar dinge vir Lee begin vlamvat het. In Augustus 2010 reik hy sy solo-debuutalum Die Enigste Manier uit. Die album bevat twaalf liedjies in Afrikaans en Engels en sommige daarvan uit sy eie pen. Benewens vir sy debuutalbum het Lee ook opgetree by die Eurovision sangkompetisie in Noorweë.

Leer ken vir Bouwer Bosch met hierdie kort Bio van hom

Bouwer Bosch (gebore in Pretoria in 1984) is ‘n Suid-Afrikaanse sanger-liedjieskrywer, musikant, akteur en entrepreneur. Hy stel sy eerste album Almal maak Voute in 2011 vry, en word vereer met ‘n Ghoema-trofee vir beste nuweling vir dié album in 2012. Sy album Hopelik is in 2016 vrygestel.

Bosch voltooi sy skoolloopbaan in Potchefstroom en verwerf ‘n BA-graad in Kommunikasiekunde aan die Noordwes-Universiteit in Potchefstroom in 2009. Hy is ook deel van die musiekgroep Straatligkinders wat in 2006 gestig is. In 2013 maak hy sy debuut as akteur in die film Klein Karoo. Hy was ook te sien in kykNET se Donkerland en Ligte Kamera Liefde.

Sy maatsappy, Bouwer Bosch Films, vervaardig musiekvideo’s en hy is ook ambassadeur vir sy eie liefdadigheidsorganisasie, Liefde Wen.

Legendariese sanger Bles Bridges sal nooit vergeet word vir sy musiek nie

Lawrence John Gabriel Bridges is op 22 Julie 1946 op Viljoensdrif gebore en het sy skoolloopbaan aan die Hoërskool Vereeniging voltooi. Sy bynaam, Bles, is deur sy Ierse oupa aan hom gegee omrede hy op vroeë ouderdom min hare gehad het.[3] In 1972 neem hy ‘n langspeelplaat saam met Minnie van Heerden op.

Die regisseur van die plaat, Corrie Mubyrgh, wat later met die sangeres Cora Marie sou trou, was van mening was dat die naam “Bles” nie byval by die publiek sou vind nie. Gevolglik is die album onder die titel Morné en Marié sing vrygestel, maar dit was egter nie ’n sukses nie.

Sy solo-debuutalbum, Onbekende Weermagman, is 10 jaar later in 1982 uitgereik. Sy beroepsloopbaan begin egter eers in 1984 met die uitreiking van sy tweede album, Bles, wat binne minder as ‘n maand goue status verwerf het (meer as 25 000 kopieë verkoop). Len Muller en sy vrou pen mooiste liefdeslied

“Ek het jou geken voor ons ontmoet het. Die kleur van jou oë die klank van jou lag. Jy het my geken met al my letsels, maar ek was genoeg vir jou en jy ook vir my,” is lirieke uit sanger en liedjieskrywer, Len Muller, se nuutste enkelsnit, Sterrewals.

Len Muller se tweede album is vrygestel, ‘Oog van die storm’

Len Muller se tweede album, Oog van die storm wat vroeër vanjaar bekend gestel is, bied inspirerende en bemoedigende musiek met ’n baie sterk geestelike ondertoon. Sy unieke en byna uitdagende liriekgedrewe aanslag wat as Afrikaans-akoesties bestempel kan word, spreek van ’n onopgesmukte eerlikheid waarby die meeste luisteraars ongetwyfeld aanklank sal kan vind. Dié persoonlike album volg op die sukses van sy debuutalbum, Doodgewone Avontuur, waarvan die enkelsnit, Smag Na Jou, op die klankbaan van die romantiese komedie, Strikdas, gebruik is.

Leon Gropp se nuutste treffer ‘Bakenlig’ vrygestel

Let’s remember the golden singers from the past:- Cora Marie

Cora Nell was born on 3 January in 1953.She grew up in Springs. Her childhood years was very challenging. She grew up in a orphanage due to her father that passed away when she was a year old.

At the age of 17 she started to work as a receptionist at the South Afican Army. Cora always had a passion for music and singing, and she started to participate in Tallent competitions while working as a receptionist. While participating in a tallent competition she was noticed by a young record producer- Corrie Myburgh. Cora introduced herself to him and told him that she wants to record a album. The record producer advised her that she was not ready to record.

This did not stop Cora from recording her first single. In 1976 she recorded her first single- Hasta Manana (Song from Abba).

Cora lost contact with Corrie Myburgh, but they reunited in 1979, and after developing a friendship they got married in September of 1979.
