Adrian Garvey – Mobile Big Man

I think Adrian Garvey was quite underrated as a Springbok. He was a different type of tighthead – one that could scrum, but also one that was mobile in loose play and could run like a loose forward.

He originally played for his native Zimbabwe and represented them at the 1991 Rugby World Cup, before playing for the Sharks and becoming a Springbok in 1996. He would play for the Boks until the 1999 Rugby World Cup before moving north and finally hanging up his boots.

Fun fact – Adrian Garvey has the best winning % of any Springbok that has played more than 10 tests.

Enjoy and thanks for watching!
