South African singer, composer and song writer (born 31 July 1944) of Afrikaans music, who achieved success when he wrote the music for the TV series “Ballade vir ‘n enkeling”, which included the song “Voshaarnooi”. He also wrote the soundtracks for various other TV series, including “Bart Nel”, “Bosveldwinkel”, “Wielie-Walie”, “Geknelde Land”, “Meester” and “Arende”. In 2000 he wrote the theme song for the soapie “7de Laan”. He passed away in Johannesburg on 9 September 2012 at the age of 68. This song is off the album “Katvoet”, released in 1981. It was written by Louis van Rensburg and Fanus Rautenbach.
